The Al Jaddaf district is among the fastest-growing areas of Greater Dubai. It is located in the southern part of Dubai, close to the city center.
Despite the massive growth of new skyscrapers, hotels, and luxury buildings, Al Jaddaf has preserved its historical atmosphere. Originally, it was the center of shipbuilding in Dubai—at a time before oil was discovered, when the maritime industry was the main source of income. Wooden boats were built here for trade and fishing, and Al Jaddaf therefore played a key role in the city’s economy in those early days.
